Admissions

Q: Where to start? 

A: Once you have decided to study at YSULS, you should go to our website and choose the study program you would like to pursuit and the admissions procedures. Follow the link to learn about the available study programs.

Q: What are admission procedures at YSULS? 

A: Please, follow the link to learn more about the admission procedures. However, you should consider having all the documents prepared according to the list of required documents and submit to YSULS International Department for further consideration.

Q: What are the admission requirements for international students? 

A: Once your documents are verified to meet the minimum criteria required, the YSULS will conduct interview on subject specific topic, as well as overall motivation to study at YSULS. There are no standardized tests for international students.

Q: What are the deadlines for submitting the application? 

A: Each year the deadlines might differ slightly. However, the application period for Bachelor’s and Master's programs is 20 June – 26 July.

Q: How should I submit the documents? 

A: There are three ways to submit the application along with the documents:

  1. Personally
  2. Via post
  3. Through the third party based on the authorisation letter.

Q: What is the address for sending the application?

Q: What are the deadlines for submitting the documents?

Q: Under which circumstances my application can be rejected? 

A: The application can be rejected if the documents submitted are fraudulent, or incomplete, or do not qualify to study at the level for which you apply.

 

Costs, Tuition, and Scholarships

Q: What is the tuition fee now, and what will it be next year? 

A: The tuition fee varies for full-time and part-time programs. The cost for BA program is 550 000 AMD for academic year, and 600 000 AMD for MA program for full time studies. As for the part-time studies the tuition cost will be XXX AMD at BA and XXX AMD at MA levels. The tuition costs are subject to review each year, though the changes will not affect the students already enrolled.

Q: How do I know if I must pay tuition as an international student or as a representative of Armenian Diaspora? 

A: The tuition fees for the applicants from Javakhq, Artsakh and Syria of Armenian origin vary from those applicable to international students. Thus, the tuition costs for applicants from Javakhq, Artsakh and Syria of Armenian origin are 400 000 AMD at Bachelor's and 450 000 AMD Master's full time study programs.

Q: Do you have scholarships for international students? 

A: There are Governmental scholarships provided to the representatives of Armenian Diaspora. Please, contact the International Cooperation Department to learn more. Currently, there is on scholarship scheme for international students.

Q: How the payment of tuition costs is made? 

A: Once you have been admitted to the YSULS, the payment for the first semester of the study programs which is half of the amount for one academic year should be paid by the 15th of September for BA and 25th of September for MA programs to the bank account of YSULS. The second half of the tuition cost should be paid no later than 26th of March for the students of 1st, 2nd and 3rd years of BA and 1st year of MA programs. As for graduate students, the 2nd half of tuition cost should be paid to the bank account of YSULS no later than 26th of February.

Q: Can I get a job on campus to help pay for my expenses? 

A: The job on the campus might be available based on specific requirements. However, we cannot guarantee that the job will be offered during the study period.

 Q: If I decide to change my University, will the tuition cost be refunded to me fully or partially? 

A: The tuition cost will be refunded partially. The final calculation will be made by the Accountancy office of YSULS and the amount for the services provided during the months you have been enrolled in the study program will be deducted from the fee you have paid initially. The difference will be refunded to your bank account.

Q: What are the visa requirements for international students?

Campus Life, Housing, and Student Organizations

Q: What is it like to be a student at YSULS? 

A: An induction is being organized for international students. International students can participate in the students' life, works and activities organized by the Students' Council. All the issues and questions concerning your stay in Yerevan and YSULS can be addressed either to the Students' Council or the External Affairs and International Cooperation Department.

Q: What about accommodation?

A: YSULS has a convenient student dormitory where foreign students can have a lovely stay. Also, the Department of Public Affairs and International Cooperation will help you to find convenient rentals for $200- $400 USD within close distance from the University.

Q: How much does the accommodation at the student dormitory cost? 

A: Single space accommodation will cost 60 000 AMD monthly including service fees.
