Reading Hall

In the Reading Hall, the books are placed according to bibliographic sections, and the sections are placed in alphabetical order. The open shelves feature periodicals and foreign-language fiction. Here you can find the best Master's and Doctoral Dissertations defended at the university.

Please remember, you can use the reading room only for: books, encyclopedias and dictionaries with one copy                                                                                              

Service Department

All the patrons of the BSU Scientific Library receive electronic cards and can enjoy all the services provided by the Library.

Patrons may borrow up to 12 books. Fiction is checked out for 12 days. Teaching materials or textbooks are checked out for one semester or one year. It is possible to renew the checked out items.

Patrons can order literature at the Circulation Desk via ONLINE LOAN.

The reader must treat the books and property carefully. It is forbidden to make marks in the books, to tear or fold a page. In case of discovering any defect receiving the book, the reader should report to the librarian. In case of loss or damage of the book, the reader is obliged to compensate in accordance with the Library Regulations. At the end of each academic year the student must hand back all the unhand literature. In case of breaking the library rules, the patron will be deprived of the right to use the Library.

ELECTRONIC INFORMATION DEPARTMENT

Electronic databases

BSU Library is a member of the Electronic Libraries Consortium of Armenia (eLCA) https://armenia.eifl.net/, and is connected to the Digital Library Network, which provides access to research databases. These databases are not openly accessed, but can only be accessed by the computers in BSU. An extensive list of e-books is also available in the Room.

Lab professionals in the Computer Room will provide you with support and consultation.

The library periodically organizes trainings on how to use e-resources.

DEVELOPMENT AND ACQUISITION DEPARTMENT

Foreign publications together with books newly published in Armenia and purchased by the library are registered in the library's electronic catalog. The catalog is based on the KOHA system, which is available for searches in English, Russian and Armenian.

AUSTRIAN LIBRARY

The Austrian Library contains German language literature on linguistics, philosophy, psychology, Austrian history, Area Studies, art, music and architecture, as well as Austrian newspapers, magazines and a library of about 300 films. Various events with the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Culture are held at the Austrian Library.

There is Wi-Fi available throughout the Library.

Working hours:

Weekdays: 09:00 - 18:00

Weekends: not working

Note: BSU Scientific Library is closed on RA public holidays.
