“YSULS PROFESSIONAL ORIENTATION DAY 2019” IN VANADZOR
A meeting with librarians from Vanadzor schools was initiated within the frame of the LNSS project. 23 librarians learned about the YSULS professional areas. The participants underscored the libraries’ crucial part in the education process. On April 10 «YSULS Professional Orientation Day 2019» was launched in Vanadzor. The representatives of YSULS subdivisions presented the educational projects and opportunities for future specialists.
The YSULS library head Anna Chulyan dwelled upon the perspectives of the contemporary educational institutions’ libraries, digital libraries and also underscored urgent need for professional retraining, which is the target of ERASMUS+ LNSS project (Library Network Support Services: Modernising Libraries in Armenia, Moldova and Belarus through Library Staff Development and Reforming Libraries). The interlocutors also discussed the issues referring to school libraries, outlining the urgent problems to be taken into consideration further on, in the course of professional retraining projects for school librarians.
A MEETING WITH THE PUPILS OF EURNEKIAN SCHOOL
On April 18, 2019, a meeting of the pupils and librarians from Eurnekian School with Anna Chulyan, the Head of Yerevan Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences Library, was held within the frames of the National Library Awareness Day.
The issues referring to the basic principles of the information literacy, open access, Armenian language digital databases, copyright were presented at the meeting. The pupils were very keen about the above-mentioned topics.
