The above webinar was conducted on 30th October 2024. The webinar brought together scholars from both the countries in the areas of social sciences and humanities to share research on promotion and preservation of Indigenous languages, digitalization of cultural heritage.
In his opening remarks, Prof. J. Prabhakar Rao, University of Hyderabad, India mentioned the scope of the research and cooperation interests between Armenian and Indian scientists, focusing on multilingualism through the promotion of minority languages, Literary narratives, History and Sociolinguistics.
Prof. Gayane Hovhannisyan, Brusov State University, Yerevan highlighted the importance of multilingual science worldwide and the role of translation and unified terminology in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Speaking on Human Rights, safeguarding cultural memories, genocide and vulnerability issues Prof. Pramod Nayar, University of Hyderabad, India has requested assistance with the provision of books and memoirs about the Armenian genocide. He also mentioned documents of the Armenian College and printing in India.
Dr. Anna Chulyan, Director of National Library of Armenia has made a detailed presentation on publication of Armenian text in India and also resources that might be interesting for Indian colleagues. She has mentioned about the importance of the protection of Armenian Heritage in India and around the world, in the current geopolitical climate.
Prof. Arulmozi Selvaraj, University of Hyderabad, India presented the work on documenting indigenous languages in India, and professional translation of cultural concepts and units of knowledge for open access.
