Diana Stepanyan’s ''My Erasmus+ story''

Diana Stepanyan - BA 3rd year, Faculty of Social Sciences and Service, Political Science

At the end of my first year in the university, when all of us were in lockdown, I was scrolling down my Facebook page I came across with an announcement of Erasmus + mobility. I just read and went ahead. But then the other day I noticed it again on my newsfeed but this time by Career Centre of Brusov State University. I decided to apply for the mobility but I was not that enthusiastic about it, because I knew that the application process would be difficult twice, you know, at that time all documentation processes were being done online. Anyway, overcoming all those difficulties I applied and forgot about it. And then one day in September I got an email confirming that I had been chosen as an Erasmus+ scholarship holder. Spain was waiting for me. After speaking to my parents about it I confirmed my participation in the programme immediately. Passing through many difficulties and stress now I am writing this text from Barcelona. My Erasmus + experience has been the most unexpected and the most amazing thing that happened to me and only the start of all my plans and goals. I studied for one semester in the University of Valladolid, in the Faculty of Law.

This is one of the oldest universities in Europe. Due to the program I became more independent and more confident. I gained new friends from different parts of the world, from Africa to Central Europe and Asia. Studying in the international university I got acquainted with completely another educational system and quality. All the professors were doing their best to provide the students with the academic knowledge which will be useful for the future career. The building where I used to study, is considered to be one of the oldest buildings in Spain constructed in a medieval gothic style. I can surely state that the one who is new can easily confuse it with a royal palace. Owing to Erasmus + I revealed completely different cultures and gained useful knowledge for myself and my Country. I have traveled in more than 10 cities in Spain, I have been to famous museums of Europe, I have seen several medieval royal palaces and castles. I am Diana. The same girl from Syunik who came to Yerevan from Kapan to carry out her dreams and goals. But now I am stronger than ever, I am strong with my knowledge and confidence. I know that I am one of the most people who is able to bring stability to our country after the disasters that Armenia and Armenian people passed through.

Dear Brusov State University Students not losing a moment apply for Erasmus + programs, get an opportunity to study in Europe, to meet new people, to get acquainted with various cultures and new educational systems.
