Jean Monnet Module “Legal Approximation Laboratory” and Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Armenia are pleased to invite you to participate in the International Academic Roundtable “EU-Armenia CEPA and Approximation to the EU Value-Based Acquis: The Rule of Law, Democracy and Human Rights” (26-27 March 2020, Yerevan Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences).

The aim of this interdisciplinary event is to provide a forum for scholars and practitioners to discuss the issues of legal approximation to the EU value-based acquis (legal rules, principles, and practices related to the EU’s “common” / “shared” fundamental values of the rule of law, democracy and Human Rights) as required by the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.

We welcome proposals addressing general theoretical and methodological issues of legal approximation and analysing the cases of implementation of “shared values” in the EU and beyond its borders (with a specific focus on the EaP countries).

If you are interested to participate as a presenter, please send an abstract of your paper (500 words) and a short bio (150-200 words) by 1 February 2020 to legal.jeanmonnet@gmail.com. Successful applicants will be notified by 7 February 2020.

Participants are expected to cover their travel and accommodation expenses. Limited financial aid is available to early-career scholars. In your application, please indicate whether financial aid is requested.

Contact: Dr. Anna Khvorostiankina, academic coordinator of the Jean Monnet Module (legal.jeanmonnet@gmail.com).
