Chair of Oriental languages

CHAIR OF ORIENTAL LANGUAGES prepares professional translators (Korean-Armenian, Chinese-Armenian). Besides it provides with theoretic knowledge of general linguistics, the history of Korea and China.

The Chair carries out academic and scientific activities. The lecturers participate in various local and international conferences and issue articles.

The Chair of Oriental Languages takes part in the elaboration of the academic programs, curricula. It also provides with professional expertise, consultation, feedback regarding dissertations, educational methodological manuals and organizes annual internships for students as well.

The Chair cooperates with scientific centers and universities such as to implement its activities effectively and also to exchange experience.

The Chair has 37 professional lecturers including guest lecturers from China and Korea. It is in close collaboration with the Confucius Institute of China, Dalian University of Foreign Languages, University of Seoul, Ajou University in Korea, University of Cairo in Egypt and others.

BSU students and lecturers have respectively participated in linguistic classes and professional training courses in leading educational institutions of Korea, China, Iran, India, Egypt, Finland, Russia and etc.

A number of Center-auditoriums (Korean language and culture, Indian language and culture, Arabic language and culture, Georgian language and Culture, Hebrew after Franz Werfel) equipped with necessary literature and modern technologies function at our university. These special classrooms are opened with the support of Embassies in RA.

The goals of such auditoriums:

▪ Promote the teaching of Oriental languages in BSU,
▪ Direct the educational interest of students to the cultural values of the countries communicating in these languages,
▪ Support the implementation of oriental language learning process in BSU.

The Laboratory for Chinese Studies founded in 2016 with the support of Hanban University, China increases the efficiency of our students' language proficiency.

COOPERATION WITH FOREIGHN EMBASSIES

The Chair of Oriental Languages is in close cooperation with accredited Embassies in the RA (Egypt, the UAE, Lebanon, China, Iran, India, Korea, Japan, Georgia).
